W.A.S. Benson Style Arts and Crafts table wall lamp, which dates from circa 1890-1900, is in superb vintage condition. These were designed to be wall-mounted; it has the original screw hole in one foot.

It has what I believe to be its original green Opalescent Vaseline glass shade, which is also in lovely condition with no damage, only showing air bubbles which would have been caused when it was originally blown into shape.

There is no maker’s mark that we can see, but we believe this is a well-known Benson design. It does, however, have what looks to be a faded stamp of a star; the mark may have faded and been rubbed away from years of polishing.

Would benefit from being mounted on a fixed plinth as sitting upright is perfectly fine; however, when adjusted to a 90-degree angle, it tends to want to tip over. After all, it was originally designed to be hung from the wall, so it has not been made to counterbalance from the base. However, it can be used as a desk lamp in an upright position.
