We aim to bring back memories from items once forgotten and bring them back into people’s lives so we can cherish them for years to come. I Michael Bourne have had a great passion for antiques and collectables from a young age, my passion first started when I was around 14 years old where my mum and dad was a big inspiration to me. My Dad was keen for me to start a collection, his aim was I would end up with a great investment in the future, After visiting several antique shops I decided to collect match Vesta cases.

I found them to be very interesting and at the time wasn’t an overly expensive collectable/antique. Over the years I collected quite a few and started to get some unique and interesting examples, then one day I heard of a Vesta case in my local clock shop.
I would often go in with my dad, as I walked in I remember seeing all the clocks mounted on the wall ticking away nicely, I was quite taken back and intrigued with them as I moved into the shop and looked in all the delightfully full display cases, I found the vesta case in there I had been looking to buy, also within the cabinet there was a selection of delightful and fancy pocket watches of all different types and styles, I was overwhelmed with them all and I couldn’t get my head around how such a small mechanical item was able to keep time and run with being so old and intricate. I purchased the vesta case and left the shop with my dad, I remember being mesmerised by all the pocket watches and within seconds of leaving the shop I had realised my desire to collect pocket watches had begun. 15 years later I’m still collecting and researching all types of pocket watches and clocks, in that time I’ve been looking for the rare and unusual movements and escapements that have been made over the years.
In my time of collecting pocket watches and various antiques I have come across many different antiques and collectables, all of which have their stunning and unique factors, this is the reason I have set up Bourne in time antiques, to hunt and find the wonderful items that are about and that have survived for years, so people that are looking for such items of quality can buy and keep them around for many more years to come. There are many advantages of buying antiques, not only for the rare factor but also the fact they were extremely well made, this, of course, is the reason they are still around today, because of the high-quality construction and outstanding workmanship within each piece.
Feel free to email me if there is something you are looking for, and please add details and photos where possible of the items in question.
