This example is of base metal construction.

This design was patented in Britain and France in 1895 by Thomas Morton, of Birmingham who was a stamper and piercer of the time, manufactured in Birmingham by Marks & Cohen, and made under license in America.

Stamped on the top is ‘The Maze Morton’s Patent’. The patented closer spirals like a camera shutter. Very clever, functional and pleasing to use.

Measurements: 5cm high by 1.7cm depth by 3cm width.
