Solid Silver Birmingham Perfume Bottle

Solid silver perfume bottle in exceptional condition with a lead cut-glass bottle.

SKU: 245 Category:

Solid silver perfume bottle in exceptional condition. It is a lead-cut glass bottle with one small chip on the rim where the stopper sits.

Complete with the rare and original stopper, which is undamaged and in perfect condition, mounted silver top fully hallmarked Birmingham 1927, and makers stamp of SR, which, at present, I’m unable to find a silversmith who worked in that period with their initials.

Most probably sponsors’ or retailers’ marks were used instead of an actual silversmith-registered mark.

It then is the assay stamp for Birmingham which is an anchor, next is the lion passant and finally the date letter C which dates it to 1927.
