Illinois Bunn Special, Model 11, 16s, 14k White Gold-Filled Pocket Watch, 23 Jewels, c.1918
This listing is for a 23-jewel Illinois Bunn Special pocket watch dating from 1918, housed in a 14k white gold-filled Star case. Size 16s, Model 11. In excellent condition throughout and in good working order.
The watch features a Bunn Special movement with 23 jewels, double roller escapement, motor barrel, gold jewel settings, and is adjusted to temperature and six positions. The damaskeened nickel movement with “Ray” pattern has the serial number 3385266 and features red enamel lettering throughout. It is stem-wind and lever-set. The movement is clean, bright, and running well, keeping good time.
The watch is housed in a Star Watch Case Company Model 177, 14k white gold-filled case. The case is in excellent condition, with no dents or brassing. The case had raised detailing around the edges, which is still crisp, and the glass is also in good order.
The white enamel Illinois double-sunk dial is in excellent condition, with bold black Arabic numerals in the “arrows-in” style. The plum/purple steel hands are original and in fine condition.
