Antique pair of silver sugar tongs in great original condition.
Fully hallmarked with a crown which refers to the Sheffield assay, then followed by the lion passant, the date letter of a “P” which dates these sugar tongs to 1907.
it’s then completed with the maker’s stamp of J D WD,
Which refers to the makers James Deakin & Sons (John & William F Deakin) they were very famous silversmiths producing many great items like Bowls, candlesticks, casters, coffee pots, condiments, cup holders, dishes, flatware, goblets, mugs and napkin rings, they were located at Sidney Works, Matilda Street, Sheffield, letter initial present on the top bend of the sugar tongs which is an “R”.
The sugar tong measure 11cm long and 3.5cm at the widest point.
