The Royal Society for the Protection of Bird spoon collection is a set of twelve solid silver spoons, each with an inlaid 24-carat gold on sterling silver cameo to the terminal, depicting one of the twelve species of British birds, within a fitted wooden presentation case with letter and booklet of authenticity, hallmarked john pinches (medallists) ltd, London 1975.
Each spoon weighs 27 grams and is 5.25 inches long all in good condition.
The spoons have general very light surface scratches, marks and scuffs commensurate with the age of the spoons and display case, each inlaid 24 carats on sterling silver, the fitted presentation case has a plaque to the top with the “RSPB” the royal society for the protection of bird soon collection, accompanied with a letter of authenticity from RSPB and john pinches limited, as well a booklet about the collecting and a fold-out pamphlet about the twelve species of British birds that are on the spoons.
Each spoon is engraved with the name of the bird on the back of the terminal below the hallmark.
Interesting and rare collection becoming quite sought after, in this great condition, Presentation box dimensions are approx. 7.5 inches in depth, 18.5 inches in length and 1.75 inches high, the weight of the overall item is approx. 1.85kg
